The IWV Economic Outlook Conference and Business Expo has appeared annually in Ridgecrest since 1988. The intent of this half-day conference is to provide information about the current economic and social position of the Indian Wells Valley while forecasting what the future will bring. The event gives community and business leaders useful information applicable to their longterm planning efforts. The program frequently includes out-of-town experts, as well as representatives of local educational and service organizations, City of Ridgecrest officials and top leaders at China Lake.

The Business Expo features Chamber members displaying their goods and services in close proximity to the conference so that attendees can visit the booths during the break and before the conference begins.

The conference and expo usually take place in February at the Kerr McGee Center adjacent to Ridgecrest's City Hall.
